JOKER Dethrones DEADPOOL As The Highest-Grossing R-Rated Movie of All Time and Ryan Reynolds Congratulates The Film

Director Todd PhillipsJoker has dethroned Deadpool as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. And just like Deadpool, the studio executives thought it was going to fail.

The film currently sits at $788.1 million at the worldwide box office, and it’s expected to become the first R-rated movie to cross the $800 million mark over the weekend. Also like Deadpool, which made $783.1 million, the movie had this huge success without being released in China.

To put things in perspective for you, because of the low budget given to make the film, Joker is also one most successful films of the year, earning as much in profit as Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War!

So congratulations to Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix, and the rest of the cast and crew for their success! It’s pretty awesome to see underdog films like this blow up to be a success.
