John Cho Looks For His Missing Daughter Via Technology in The Trailer For His New Thriller SEARCHING

A new trailer has been released for John Cho's upcoming thriller Searching. The movie centers around a character named David Kim (Cho), whose 16-year-old daughter, Margot, goes missing. After a detective fails to find a single lead in her disappearance after 37 hours, David takes matters into his own hands.

David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.

The movie is told completely through computer screens. When talking about the film in our review, Corrin explained that even though the concept seemed too gimmicky, "from the Windows XP startup screen, I was hooked. The story unfolds through pictures, emails, home videos, you name it. And within the first ten minutes, I was not only completely invested, but crying like I hadn't cried during an opening sequence since Pixar's Up." She goes on to say:

With many twists and turns, Search is an exciting story that uses the limitation of its format to cleverly reveal clues as to Margot's whereabouts.

This is a great trailer and it looks like a movie that is worth checking out. Searching hits theaters on August 3, 2018. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think.
