Jon Favreau Is Open to Directing Another Movie for Marvel, What Do You Think It Should Be?
Jon Favreau has been really busy these days developing some pretty big and exciting projects. For the past few years he’s been directing The Lion King remake for Disney and writing and producing The Mandalorian series for Lucasfilm and Disney+.
Favreau also appeared in Avengers: Endgame as Happy and has a good sized role in Spider-Man: Far From Home. He has a good and strong relationship with Marvel, and in a recent interview with Fandango, the filmmaker said that he be open to directing another film for Marvel, he’s been discussing it with Marvel, but as you might expect, it most likely won’t be Iron Man 4.
"We haven't talked about four. I've talked to [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige] about it to see what they're up to, but we definitely love working together and we love these characters. We talk about what it would be, and we always joke about the freak storyline which is the Happy Hogan storyline when he turns into a Hulk-like character. We joke about that. No plans, as of yet."
That actually would be a lot of fun to see! A hulked out Happy Hogan story arc!? I’d be up for that! Favreau is the guy who pretty much launched the MCU with the first Iron Man film. He’s one of the main reasons why Marvel ultimately succeeded. It would be great to see him return to direct another Marvel film at some point in the future.
Is there a Marvel character and story arc that you’l like to see Favreau bring to the big screen?
