Jon Favreau Reveals When His STAR WARS TV Series Takes Place
A couple months ago Lucasfilm announced that Iron Man director Jon Favreau would be developing a new live-action Star Wars TV series. There's really been no information revealed about the series. We have no idea what it will be about, but during the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Favreau dropped a little nugget of information that you might be interested in. He revealed when the story for the series would be set.
The director confirmed that the series would take place seven years after the events of Return of the Jedi and before the events of The Force Awakens. This is a time in the Star Wars Universe that hasn't really been explored before. He also revealed that it will feature all-new characters and will incorporate the "cutting edge tech" that he used to help in bringing The Jungle Book to life.
I wish I had more details to share, but that's all we have for now. After it was announced that Favreau would be taking in this series, he said:
“If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure.”
Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm president added:
"I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform. Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe. This series will allow Jon the chance to work with a diverse group of writers and directors and give Lucasfilm the opportunity to build a robust talent base.”
I'm super excited to to see what Favreau is planning for this series!
