Jon Favreau Says THE MANDALORIAN is On Track To Debut on Disney+ in October

The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau recently offered an update on the upcoming second season of the series during a panel at the ATX Television Festival, and he says that despite film and TV productions being shut down over the past few months, the series will return in October as planned. He explains:

“We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lock down. Thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we have been able to do all of our visual effects and editing and postproduction remotely through systems that had been set up by those companies for us.”

Favreau went on to talk about how the rigorous TV schedule made Season 2 feel more like a continuation of the first season. He went on to say:

“As we explore partnering with new filmmakers and having new characters and going deeper with the characters we already have, it’s really been very fun and fulfilling and I hope people are having as much fun seeing it as we are having making it.”

Pedro Pascal stars in the series as a Mandalorian bounty hunter who becomes the guardian of a mysterious creature known only as The Child. Season 2 will continue their journey while they are being hunted down by Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

They will be joined by new cast members that include Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and maybe Captain Rex, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, and Michael Biehn in a yet to be revealed role. It’ll be interesting to see what other characters might be introduced in the series!

The Mandalorian Season 2 will feature episodes directed by Jon Favreau, Carl Weathers, Dave Filoni, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, and maybe Bryce Dallas Howard.
