Jon Favreau Shares Never-Before-Seen Alternate IRON MAN Post-Credits Scene
Iron Man director Jon Favreau was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and while on the show he shared a never-before-seen alternate post-credits scene from the movie. It’s kinda cool that after all these years, we get to see something like this, and it’s fun!
The post-credits scene in the 2008 movie probably isn’t the most iconic moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it set up the MCU! It featured Samuel L. Jackson stepping out of the shadows of Tony Stark's apartment to introduce himself as Nick Fury, teasing his plans for the Avengers Initiative.
This new version of that scene offers an alternate take. It’s the same scene but the dialogue is a bit different as Jackson incorporates his own flare and style into the scene. It’s much better!
Favreau detailed the scene, saying: "The way it works is Iron Man, in the end, just walks into his living room after the credits and he gets surprised by Nick Fury being there inviting him to join the Avengers Initiative. That kind of kicks off the whole sequencing that happens."
Favreau confirmed, "I knew it wasn't gonna be in the movie." When Kimmell says that they had the new footage, Favreau was surprised, asking, "Where did you find this?" Then added: "This is real, by the way. This isn't a joke. We really filmed this just for fun."
Check it out! It’s queued up and ready to go.
