Jon Hamm Says He'd Take on The Role of Batman if WB Asked Him To Do It
Over the years, Jon Hamm has been a fan cast as Batman and now the actor is talking about it and what he would do if he was actually offered the role. While talking to Graham Bensinger in an interview, the actor had this to say:
"It depends on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well."
Hamm hasn’t had any conversations with WB about playing Batman, but he said he’d take on the role if they asked him!
"I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men. I have never had a conversation with anyone about it, literally. And I've sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the Internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the Internet."
"I'd probably fit the suit. I'd have to work out a lot, which I don't love. But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it: why not?"
There’s a good chance that Ben Affleck is not coming back to reprise the role, especially now that Henry Cavill is on the outs. Warner Bros. and DC are obviously looking to take things in another direction and these guys most likely won’t be along for the ride.
If WB was looking for an older actor again to take on the role of Bruce Wayne, Jon Hamm would be a great choice, but I don’t think that’s the direction that the studio is going with in director Matt Reeves’ The Batman. It’s been reported that they are looking for a younger actor to take it on.
Would you like to see Jon Hamm play Batman even though it will probably never happen?
