Jon M. Chu Says We Will See Dorothy in WICKED: FOR GOOD as It Does Intersect with THE WIZARD OF OZ

Fans are still talking about the film Wicked, which hit theaters right before the holidays and became a critical and box office success right away.

It continues to rake in the big money, and the best part is that we don’t have to wait too long before we see its second part released so we can watch the final chapters unfold.

While talking about the next film, and if we can expect to see Dorothy in the movie, director Jon M. Chu said in an interview:

“Well, we definitely did cast Dorothy. You see her in some of our teasers. How much of do you see of Dorothy? I'm going to leave people— I can't I can't confirm or deny how much you see of her.

'“I will say that I do think it's important for, whoever Dorothy is to you, to try to respect that as much as possible. But does The Wizard of Oz and our movie intersect in movie two more than ever? 100%.”

If you’ve seen the stage musical, you know that Dorothy does make an appearance, and the film has even more time to cover the part of the story that overlaps with The Wizard of Oz. I loved the first Wicked movie, and I can’t wait to see how Chu wraps up the epic tale in the next film.

Wicked: For Good will open in theaters on November 21, 2025.
