Jon Spaihts Will Adapt the GEARS OF WAR Movie for Netflix
Last November, Netflix announced that they are developing a live-action movie and an animated series based on the hit video game Gears of War. Now, the streaming service announced that the live-action film will be adapted by Jon Spaihts (Dune). Spaihts has quite the resume, and so he very well might be up for the challenge. Some video game adaptations have been great like Sonic the Hedgehog and others have been just awful. Hopefully this new Gears of War movie is the former. Sharing his excitement, Spaihts said:

Gears of War is one of the all-time great action games, with vivid characters, a beautifully designed world, and a combat system that drives home the lethality of war and the importance of standing by your squadmates. It wants to be cinema, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to help that happen.
The Gears of War universe is being adapted by Netflix in partnership with The Coalition who will be producing this movie. A statement by The Coalition reads:
