Jonah Hill has signed on to star in an upcoming limited series that will follow the story of Hollywood fixers Sidney Korshak and Lew Wasserman, as detailed in the Dennis McDougal book The Last Mogul. William Monahan, who won the Academy Award for writing The Departed, is onboard the project to create the series and adapt the screenplay.

Hill will play Korshak, and the story will follow the following true story:

Wasserman was the visionary who in the 1940s liberated actors from film studio control by creating the modern talent agency, and then straddled both lines until the government made him choose and Wasserman shed talent representation for producing. Wasserman’s empire building was abetted by Korshak, an attorney now famous for providing a bridge between organized crime and Hollywood.

Hill and his Strong Baby partners Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin will Executive Produce with LBI/Expanded Media and Monahan. Mark Canton (Power/PowerUniverse) and Celebrands CEO Allen Shapiro will also be executive producers. Author McDougal will also serve as executive producer. Additional source material for the series includes unreported information from Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Jeff Gerth.

The project will be shopped soon, and we will let you know where it lands. Hill was so fantastic in his last limited series Maniac, so I am excited to see him in this next project.
