Jonathan Majors Wants Robert Downey Jr. Back as Iron Man in AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY
Get ready for a seismic shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the talented actor Jonathan Majors takes on the role of the ultimate Marvel villain, Kang the Conqueror, in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! The movie is going to lead to a showdown of epic proportions as it will lead us to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
We have no idea what to expect from that movie, and we have no idea who will show up, but with the Multiverse being cracked open in the MCU, anything is possible. That being said, Majors is saying that he wants Robert Downey Jr. to join him in the movie as Iron Man, which would be pretty insane!
While talking to Lifehacker Australia, Majors said: “So Kang Dynasty – I can’t even think about it because I’m so excited about [Quantumania] – but Kang Dynasty feels to me that it has the potential to grow the mythology of Kang, to grow the curiosity of Kang that much more, which is extremely exciting.”
He went on to say: “This is like a Robert Downey Jr. day, he just keeps popping in [to my head]. Like, I know he’s an OG. I mean, he’s one of the originals. I’m just such a huge fan of him as an actor. I think what he did with Iron Man was such a gift to the culture at large.”
Majors continued, talking about how it would be such a great experience for him to work with Downey Jr. saying: “I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up. You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating. His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear world view and energy of the Avengers. And I think Kang represents a different era.”
There’s no doubt that Marvel fans would love to see Robert Downey Jr. return to the role of Iron Man in the MCU. It would obviously be a different version of the character from an alternate universe, but there’s no doubt that the fans would flip out over it! Will it happen? We’ll just have to wait and see what Marvel’s big master plan is for The Multiverse Saga.
