Jordan Peele's TWILIGHT ZONE Series Officially Picked Up By CBS All Access
CBS All Access has officially ordered the new Twilight Zone series reboot being developed by Jordan Peele (Get Out), Simon Kinberg (X-Men), and showrunner Marco Ramirez (The Defenders, Daredevil). The only reason that I'm excited about this new series is the fact that Jordan Peele is involved.
When talking about the series, Peele said, “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” Kingberg went on to say, “The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I’m so thrilled to be doing it with Jordan, Marco and the team at CBS All Access.” Julie McNamara, executive VP originals at CBS All Access added:
“The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before. Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series.”
The Twilight Zone is my number one favorite series of all time. It has served as inspiration for so many other stories, TV shows, and films over the years. I'm curious to see how Peele, Kinberg, and Ramirez handle this reboot, but unless I'm totally blown away by the first episode, I'm not going to subscribe to CBS' All Access streaming service for it. I can always just watch the original Twilight Zone series on Netflix or Blu-ray to get my fix.
What do you think about this new Twilight Zone series reboot? Do you think it will make CBS All Access worth the subscription?
