Trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Showtime Anthology Series SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER
A new trailer has been released for the first season of the Showtime anthology series, Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, 500 Days of Summer, 50/50) as Uber’s CEO and founder, Travis Kalanick. Gordon-Levitt brings a sort of maniacal energy to the screen, so the title seems super fitting.
He is joined in the cast by Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights, Bloodline), who plays Kalanick’s mentor, Bill Gurley, and Uma Thurman, who plays author and founder of The Huffington Post Arianna Huffington.
Here's the series description, per Showtime:
Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber tells the story of one of Silicon Valley's most successful and most destructive unicorns, Uber. The season pivots on Travis Kalanick (Gordon-Levitt), Uber's hard-charging CEO who was ultimately ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes tumultuous relationship with his mentor Bill Gurley (Chandler), the plainspoken, brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber's success — and then has to live with the consequences. Uma Thurman stars as Arianna Huffington, the savvy businesswoman and co-founder of The Huffington Post, who was an Uber board member.
This looks like it’s going to be a great series. JGL is one of my very favorite actors, and I think he will bring this character to the screen with excellence, as we’ve become accustomed to when watching him take on a role. Check out the trailer below, and watch Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber on Showtime starting on February 27th, 2022.
