Josh Brolin Calls The DEADPOOL Part of the X-Men Universe a "Limited Series"

20th Century Fox thought it was going to be a big gamble to bet on Deadpool, but they did and they are now reaping the benefits of something that they didn't initially believe in. Fans are eagerly anticipating the sequel and after that we have X-Force. But, according to Josh Brolin, this whole Deadpool side of the X-Men universe may not last that long as everyone is referring to it as a "limited series".

During an interview with Collider, Josh Brolin talked about how he almost passed on playing Cable because of another project he was looking at doing. He said:

“At first I was like, ‘I don’t know. I want to do George and Tammy.’ My wife - thank god - said to just read it. ‘Why are you even talking, just read it.’ I was thinking [too big] about the four-picture deal. So, on my phone I remember I read it."

He went on to share his thoughts on the script and the film, which just wrapped shooting, saying:

“It was so reverent and funny and hysterical that once I got through it I was like, ‘that’s it’ and I had no idea [about] the fan-base. I had no idea what it represented, and I think we’ve made something really special.”

As Brolin continues, he goes on to say that they are calling this a "limited series" and Brolin is set to star in four films:

“We’ll call it our limited series. This is our limited series. Going back to really fun writing. It’s a great tone, anything goes. It’s a really fun stretch for me to be involved in that comedic community.”

I imagine this "limited series" encompasses the four films that Brolin has signed on to make, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens when those four films are complete. We all know that all good things must come to an end, but I'm sure these films that they are developing are going to be one hell of a wild and entertaining ride! Let's just enjoy them while they last!
