Josh Duhamel in Talks to Replace Armie Hammer in SHOTGUN WEDDING Opposite Jennifer Lopez

Last week, actor Armie Hammer landed in some hot water after the release of screenshots of private messages he sent to women on social media in which he shared disturbing sexual fantasies including rape and cannibalism. Gross. So Hammer is done with the projects he had in the pipeline for now, including the film Shotgun Wedding, which he was due to star in opposite Jennifer Lopez. He exited the project last week, and now the film is looking to cast Josh Duhamel in his place.

Variety reports that “Duhamel would star as Tom, opposite Lopez’s Darcy in the film about a couple who gathers their families together for a destination wedding. Things start to go south, however, after the pair gets cold feet. But things really take a turn for the worst when the entire wedding party is taken hostage.”

Jason Moore will direct from a screenplay by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. Duhamel was most recently seen in the film Buddy Games, which he wrote and directed, and is known for his roles in the Transformers movies as well as Safe Haven, 11.22.63, Love, Simon, and the upcoming crime film, Bandit.
