Trailer for the Bank Robbery Film BANDIT Starring Josh Duhamel, Mel Gibson, and Elisha Cuthbert

A new trailer has been released for the bank robbery film Bandit, which is based on the wild true life story of Gilbert Galvan Jr. Josh Duhamel stars in the film, and is joined by Elisha Cuthbert, Nestor Carbonell, Mel Gibson, and Haley Webb. The film is directed by Canadian filmmaker Allan Ungar (Tapped Out, Gridlocked), from a screenplay written by Kraig Wenman, based on the book The Flying Bandit by Robert Knuckle.

Here’s the rundown:

Gilbert Galvan Jr (Josh Duhamel), a charming criminal, escapes from prison and assumes a new identity. After falling in love with Andrea (Elisha Cuthbert), a caring social worker he can’t provide for, he turns to robbing banks and discovers that he’s exceptionally good at it. Addicted to the rush and money, he turns to loan shark and gangster Tommy Kay (Mel Gibson) for bigger opportunities. Based on the true story of The Flying Bandit.

This looks pretty good. The guy looks like he was a master at his craft, transforming himself from one minute to the next to pull off each heist, but like all criminals, he seems to have gotten greedy and gotten caught in an attempt at one more lucrative job. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch Bandit when it is released in select US theaters and on VOD on September 23rd.
