Josh Trank Says FANTASTIC FOUR is a "Multipower Slugfest"

A lot has been made about Josh Trank's Fantastic Four movie, from unconfirmed rumors about behavior on the set, to 20th Century Fox's marketing of the film, but the only thing I care about is whether the final movie is good or not.

Now Trank — who was once lined up to direct a Star Wars spin-off, but decided to bail from that project — is trying to generate some hype for his superhero movie. In a new interview with EW, he builds it up to be something pretty gargantuan:

“The audience should expect an epic, massive, huge, multipower slugfest. This movie is big. A lot of stakes.”

Simon Kinberg, the film's producer, chimed in by pointing out what everyone was already thinking: the most recent two Fantastic Four films were garbage.

“I get the skepticism going into it because the previous movies weren’t very good. It’s a very hard title to crack.”

We'll find out if this team was able to crack it on August 7th, but I'm wondering if, because of all of the rumors swirling about Trank and the movie itself, if Fox will even run the risk of bringing this project to Comic-Con or not. At this point, it may be a safer move for them to hold it back and hope that we're surprised by it. We'll see how it goes next week.
