Joss Whedon Offers an Update on DR. HORRIBLE Sequel

When I first saw Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, I was a freshman in high school, and I was in my film class. My film teacher was madly in love with this and everything about it. After watching it, I could understand why. The songs were brilliant, and the acting was amazing.

In Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Neil Patrick Harris plays a villain who falls in love with Felicia Day’s character, Penny, who actually starts dating Harris’s enemy — the hero of the story, Captain Hammer, played by Nathan Fillion.

This week at San Diego Comic-Con during the Dark Horse Comic’s Panel, Whedon offered a new update on the sequel, which will take place after the events of first series, where Dr. Horrible has taken over the world which doesn’t last very long to begin with. When asked about it he said:

"But yes, Jay-Mo [Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen] and I have been talking about when we need to sit down and do Doctor Horrible 2. But they just had a baby, and they are running a show that I'm executive figurehead of. We want to do that.
"It takes place after the events of the first. It's in the time when Doctor Horrible has basically taken over the world and is really happy. That lasts about three minutes,"

I, for one, really hope Whedon gets this sequel off the ground and into production soon. You can read some of our previous articles about the sequel here.
