Joss Whedon Says He Would Return to Marvel to Direct a BLACK WIDOW Movie

A lot of Marvel fans out there would love to see the studio finally make a Black Widow movie. The concept of a film has been discussed at the studio, and one day it might actually happen. If it did, Avengers director Joss Whedon said that he would return to Marvel to direct it!

During an interview with IGN, he talked about Black Widow and why film involving her would be fun to do:

"I think that character really is very interesting and very earthbound, so it’s the kind of action that I got to do less of with somebody like Thor or The Vision.
"When you get into your ‘Superman’ territory it’s harder to maintain the gritty action that the Russo brothers do so brilliantly and she’s got that kind of thing and [you can] really do a spy thriller. Like really do a good, paranoid, ‘John le Carré on crack’ sort of thing. That would be really fun."

It would be so cool to see a Black Widow film. Some people don't know how it could work, but I think Whedon could give us something spectacular. When talking about Scarlett Johansson and what it's like working with her, he said:

"Scarlett Johansson is just delightful. She works really hard but she just spends most of her time cracking me up, so it would be a fun shoot."

Will this movie ever happen? Kevin Feige previously said that it was being considered, so there is a chance it could get made. If Marvel does move forward with it, they should definitely get Whedon on board!
