Julia Stiles Joining ORPHAN Prequel ORPHAN: FIRST KILL With Isabelle Fuhrman Returning
William Brent Bell (The Boy franchise) is hard at work shooting the Orphan (2009) sequel, Orphan: First Kill, in Winnipeg. A new report reveals that the film will welcome back the original film’s star, Isabelle Fuhrman, to play the role of the orphan, Esther. She will be accompanied by Julia Stiles (10 Things I Hate About You, Save the Last Dance, Riviera), who is new to the franchise.
Deadline reports that as this sequel is being made 11 years later, “In order to help Fuhrman bring her character to life again, filmmakers are utilizing a combination of forced perspective shooting and a world-class makeup team.”
Orphan: First Kill is written by David Coggeshall, and the report gives the following synopsis:
“Leena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.”
I haven’t seen the first Orphan movie, and I am not a huge horror fan, so I don’t know if this is a sequel that fans were hoping for. But hopefully the people who enjoyed the first film will like Orphan: First Kill just as well. Are you looking forward to another Orphan movie?
