Julie Andrews Will Have a Role in AQUAMAN
The biggest piece of news I saw this weekend that confused me was that Julie Andrews will be in Aquaman. I never would’ve guessed that Andrews would be in a superhero movie. Of course, it makes sense that if she did appear she would be really powerful. Director James Wan retweeted Entertainment Weekly, who revealed Andrews had “a secret role” in the film, and he added that she’d be powerful.
We know that Andrews will play the Karathen, who is supposed to be a giant undersea creature that plays a crucial role in the union of the Atlantean world and the surface world. Peter Safran is producing Aquaman, and he explained choosing Andrews thusly:
“We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered. And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.”
