JURASSIC ISLAND Looks Like A Glorious B-Horror Movie

Uncork’d Entertainment certainly makes a lot of movies that, let’s be honest, you should feel free to never think about. But every so often one comes along that just looks like the stars have aligned to make an amazing B-horror movie. Jurassic Island looks like one of those movies. First, here’s the official synopsis:

Ava uncovers the whereabouts of her missing Father to an unchartered Island; a mythical lost world uncovered before them by her grandfather. Joined by a group of adventurers and scientists, they arrive at Jurassic Island where it becomes clear that the previous team had run into disaster. Dinosaurs and toxic leeches mean it’s no longer a search for her father, but a battle for survival.

It doesn’t sound all that different, maybe some goofy looking dinosaurs is the best you can hope for right? Oh no, by toxic leeches they definitely seem to mean leeches that turn you into a zombie. So not only do we have some dinosaurs that move like the original Resident Evil zombies, but we have zombies to contend with. If the leeches also turn the dinosaurs into zombies then we’ll have a real winner here. And I know tyrannosaurus rex had tiny arms, but do those arms look too small? The movie comes out digitally April 5 and on DVD April 11.

Look, I know it sounds like I hate these movies from how I describe them, but I love a good B-horror movie. I unapologetically love Sharknado 1-3 because they are so ridiculous and over the top, it’s fantastic. There’s a lot of joy to be found in watching movies like this with friends. Do I still watch good movies? Of course, but nothing will make you appreciate a good movie the way watching a bunch of these kinds will. So while a lot of these kinds of movies are junk even by their own standards, I am happy they still get made so that we can get gems like Jurassic Island potentially can be. But watch the trailer for yourself, does this look like it has potential?
