JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION Won't Be the Last Film in the Franchise

When director Colin Trevorrow and writer Derek Connolly set out on their journey to continue the story of the Jurassic Park franchise with Jurassic World, it was planned as a trilogy. Well, that trilogy is coming to an end with Jurassic World: Dominion, but that doesn’t mean the franchise is coming to an end. In fact, producer Frank Marshall says this next film will “the start of a new era.”

When Marshall was asked if this next film would be the end of the franchise, he said, “No. The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope.” He went on to say the future of these stories will be set in this “new normal.”

So, I guess that means we can expect to see Jurassic World 4 happen at some point. With dinosaurs now roaming the earth being the new normal, it will be fun and interesting to see that world explored. So, while some people might roll their eyes at this franchise continuing, I’m kind of curious and excited to see what the future films bring.

As the franchise does move forward, though, I imagine that this next film will be the last that we see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in. It would make sense to move away from the familiar characters these actors play and focus on some of the other people that are now surviving in this new dinosaur-filled world.

But, who knows? It’ll be interesting to see what producer Steven Spielberg, Marshall, and their creative team have planned for the franchise after this next movie.

What would you like to see from the franchise as it continues?
