JUST CAUSE Movie Finally Moves Forward with Talent From NOBODY 2, BLUE BEETLE & JOHN WICK
After years of false starts and development chaos, a Just Cause movie is finally moving forward. The long-running open-world video game franchise, known for its high-flying, destruction-heavy action, is getting a big-screen adaptation, and it has some serious firepower behind it.
According to The Wrap, Jack Ryan and Nobody 2 writer Aaron Rabin is tackling the script, while Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto is set to helm the project.
The film is being produced by 87North’s David Leitch, co-director of John Wick and director of Bullet Train, alongside Kelly McCormick, meaning fans can expect top-tier action choreography.
While details on casting, release date, and plot are still under wraps, it’s safe to assume the film will lean into the chaos that made the Just Cause games a hit.
The series follows Rico Rodriguez, a skilled operative who specializes in overthrowing dictatorships with an arsenal of weapons, a trusty grappling hook, and a disregard for gravity.
Rabin is currently finishing work on Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2, so he’s no stranger to working on fast-paced films with brutal action.
With the creative team brought together to bring Just Cause to life, this could end up being a pretty cool and fun action flick.
