Just in Case You Didn't Know There Will Be Predator Dogs in THE PREDATOR
It looks like director Shane Black's The Predator will include Predator Hounds! The big reveal came from Funko's line of POP! figures for the film. One of the figures also features Jacob Trembley's young character wearing a Predator mask. I'm not sure why he's wearing the mask or even if it will somehow play into the story, but we'll just have to wait and see.
As for the Predator Hounds, there was a different version of dog-like Predators in the Robert Rodriguez-produced film Predators, but these look much more like Predator-type creatures. What do you think about the upcoming movie involving these Predator dogs?
The full lineup of POP! figures include:
- The titular creature with a one-in-six Chase, a Super Predator (in case the Predator wasn’t sufficiently terrifying) and a Predator Hound with a one-in-six Chase.
- A highly colorful heat vision version of a Predator Hound is available as an Amazon exclusive.
- Rory wearing a Predator mask is available as a Funko Shop exclusive.
- A chrome version of the Predator is available at FYE.
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
The movie stars Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson, This is Us), Keegan-Michael Key, and Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica).
Director Shane Black co-wrote the script with his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker, and it will be released in theaters on September 14, 2018.
