Justice For Han is Coming in The FAST AND FURIOUS Franchise
One of my favorite characters from the Fast and Furious franchise was Han, who was introduced in Tokyo Drift. Then his character was straight up murdered by Deckard Shaw, a villain turned good guy. I always thought it was funny how everyone is cool with Shaw in the franchise now, regardless of the horrible things he has done to these characters. The dude also blew up Dom’s house!
A lot of fans of the franchise are wondering if there will ever be justice for Han and according to screenwriter Chris Morgan that will come. During an interview with EW, he explained that there is a plan on place for Shaw and justice for Han is coming:
“I love ‘justice for Han,’ Sung Kang is a great friend, and Han is a character that I adore. I would say that the super-arc for Deckard Shaw is going to be one of the most interesting, cool, rewarding character arcs in the franchise. Justice for Han is owed. It’s something we have discussed for a very long time and want to give the right due to. I think the audience will be satisfied and should know it’s coming. There’s a line in Hobbs & Shaw that is right before the battle in Samoa where Shaw says to his sister, ‘there’s things I’ve done that I have to make amends for.’ That line was specifically written and put in there just to let everyone know that he is talking about Han — it is on his mind. It tortures him, and he’s going to get to it.”
There’s no word on when or what film we will see this story arc for Shaw come to a head but at least we know that it’s eventually coming. It’ll be interesting to see how this all ends up playing out. How would you like to see justice for Han play out in the franchise?
