JUSTICE LEAGUE Cinematographer Confirms Scenes Were Cut of Superman Wearing His Black Suit

One thing that a lot of fans were looking forward to seeing in Justice League was Superman sporting his black and silver suit after he was resurrected. This is what he wore in the Death of Superman comics, so it made sense that they would've gone that route for the film, but... they didn't!

There have been conflicting reports regarding if there were any scenes shot of Superman in the black suit. I've heard that there were and I've heard that there weren't. But hell, at one point Henry Cavill teased the black suit during production! But, when the movie was released, all we saw was Superman wearing his classic blue and red suit. So, like many of you, I just assumed that nothing was actually shot with the suit.

Now cinematographer Fabian Wagner has confirmed in an interview with Inverse.com that there were several scenes shot of Superman wearing the black suit, but the studio obviously ended up cutting it out. He says:

“There were [quite a few scenes shot]. It’s a cool looking costume. Sadly we didn’t see that either in the final cut. Zack takes his time with telling the stories and I’ve always liked that about his movies. There are a few scenes that I was very much looking forward to seeing which unfortunately got cut.”

That is unfortunate. I would have liked to see how this scene would have played out and looked like on the big screen. Had they gone the whole black suit route, Cavill could have kept his facial hair! I hope we get to see these deleted scenes on the home entertainment release. Do you think Warner Bros. will let the fans see all this stuff that was cut?
