Justin Lin Reportedly Spending Up To 16 Hours A Day Editing STAR TREK BEYOND

Regardless of what opinion you form when Star Trek Beyond hits theaters, just keep in mind director Justin Lin busted his ass to get it to you! Logan Hill joined The Sitting Around Talking About Movies Podcast and said the director is spending up to 16 hours a day in post production to make sure he gets everything he needs! From the podcast:

"He'd be editing [that day's] sequences every night to make sure he got what he needed… He would stay up all night editing because if you don't get [any needed] stuff the next day - with a cast like that that's so big and has so many missing parts - you miss it."

Apparently this is normal for Lin, who has a reputation in Hollywood for a quick turnaround on his films. Hill also said he got a glimpse at some of the finished scenes and effects and said they looked "spectacular!" Spectacular was not a word I would've initially thought applied for Star Trek Beyond, but despite its recent reshoots, hopefully this means I'll be surprised when I see it in theaters! If nothing else, I won't be questioning Lin's dedication to the project!

From director Justin Lin comes STAR TREK BEYOND starring Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zach Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban. In theaters July 22nd. Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, is a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), a leading content company with prominent and respected film, television and digital entertainment brands.
