Kang Rumored to Return to the MCU, and He Could Be Played by SEVERANCE Star Tramell Tillman
It looks like Marvel Studios might not be done with Kang the Conqueror just yet. According to a new rumor, the villain will return to the MCU, but not in the way fans might expect, and not with Jonathan Majors in the role.
Last week, a shaky report surfaced claiming that Marvel was considering bringing Majors back as Kang, despite parting ways with the actor following his legal troubles. I always thought that rumor was crap so I never shared it
But, insider Jeff Sneider has now weighed in on this on The Hot Mic podcast, stating that while Kang is set to make a return, and it will likely be brief.
"Marvel has a plan to say goodbye to Kang," Sneider revealed, adding that "Doctor Doom could be the one who kills him" in one of the upcoming Avengers movies.
Sneider has also heard that Severance actor Tramell Tillman might be in talks to take over as Kang, at least for the character’s final scenes.
Majors, who was found guilty last year on two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault, avoided jail time but was sentenced to a year of domestic violence counseling, which he has now completed.
Marvel decided to move on from the actor, scrapping Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and shifting gears to focus on Doctor Doom, with Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the role, which is still weird casting.
But even with the studio pivoting away from Kang as the big threat, it makes sense that they would need to tie up some loose ends.
How would you feel about Tillman stepping into the role of Kang, even if only briefly?
