Kanye West Is Starting to Build STAR WARS-Themed Low-Income Housing
Kanye West has a certain vision for helping the world, and a part of that vision includes building Star Wars themed low-income housing. West is a huge Star Wars fan, so it’s not surprising that his love for the franchise would spill into some of his projects… like this.
West revealed that he was building this Star Wars-inspired housing in a recent interview with Forbes. The housing is specifically based on the structures from the planet Tatooine, Luke Skywalker’s childhood home.
According to the report, West has been working with a team to design “prefabricated structures that sport the same austere aesthetic, with the goal of deploying them as low-income housing units.”
West even brought the interviewer, Zack O'Malley Greenburg, to see what has been done so far, and he explained that he saw a "trio of structures that look like the skeletons of wooden spaceships." Those are physical prototypes of his concept, “each oblong and dozens of feet tall.”
West explained that these structures “could be used as living spaces for the homeless, perhaps sunk into the ground with light filtering in through the top.”
I don’t think any one really struggling with money issue or homelessness would care if the roof over their head is a Star Wars-themed structure or not. I imagine they’d just be happy to have a place to live. But, I guess the Star Wars design is a bonus.
