Karen Gillan Joins JUMANJI Sequel

Karen Gillan has been added to the cast of the upcoming sequel for Jumanji. She'll play a character named Martha, and she joins Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas, and Jack Black in what Johnson recently confirmed was a sequel to the 1995 movie, not a remake or reboot. No other details are known about the character, but Deadline claims many A-list actresses were eyed for the role.

I'm excited for her! Of course, she's my favorite companion (sorry Billie Piper and Jenna Coleman), and she was amazing in Oculus and Guardians of the Galaxy. I just feel like a proud fan watching someone's career grow from humble beginnings. Hell, she's about the most successful person to have come out of the Doctor Who franchise since its reboot!

Jumanji is expected out July 28, 2017.
