Karen Gillan to Star in Disney+ Animated Musical Series RHONA WHO LIVES BY THE RIVER From Emily Kapnek and Danny Elfman

Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji star Karen Gillan has signed on to star in the animated musical series Rhona Who Lives by the River from Suburgatory and Splitting Up Together creator Emily Kapnek. Four-time Oscar nominee Danny Elfman will create and oversee music on the project and also will executive produce along with Gillan.

Deadline reports that “Rhona Who Lives by the River follows the adventures of Rhona #3 (Gillan), the third most interesting Rhona in a small Scottish town, whose life is utterly dull. But after a freak clootie well accident results in bacterial pinkeye and the ability to make her own wishes come true, Rhona’s star is finally on the rise!”

Kapnek, who is under an overall deal with ABC Signature, will serve as showrunner and executive producer will Gillan and Elfman. This sounds like a fun and original idea with a lot of talent on board. Does it sound like a series you’ll want to check out?
