Karl Urban Wants To Explore Bones' Family In Next STAR TREK Film

There's no guarantee that another Star Trek film is happening after Star Trek: Beyond, but if there is, Karl Urban knows what he wants to do with his character. The actor shared his thoughts at the Continuing Voyage Convention in Chicago and Trek Movie was in attendance to get his idea for the next film: 

“Perhaps it would be interesting to see something of McCoy’s family...His ex-wife and daughter and that dynamic.”

That might be interesting to see, although I can't see that being more than a 30-second clip similar to what was shown with Sulu and his lover in Star Trek: Beyond. I know Karl Urban was more than a little upset about his role being reduced and threatened to walk from the franchise ahead of this film, but it's time to face facts: A Star Trek film should never revolve around Bones. Maybe that's a hot take for me to say that, but I really think if you're trying to base a film around any other character than Kirk or Spock you're making a mistake. Is that wrong of me to say?
