Mary Elizabeth Winstead Will Play a Deadly Assassin in KATE
Kate is an upcoming action film from Netflix, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be the star. Meanwhile, Umair Aleem is writing the script that Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will use to direct.
Here’s the description:
“The story revolves around a female assassin, who, after being poisoned and given less than 24 hours to live, must go on a manhunt through the streets of Tokyo to take vengeance on her murderer before she dies.”
Isn’t this one of those situations where if a snake bites you, don’t chase the snake? You’re supposed to go get medical attention. If she gets medical help, she could potentially live and then go kill her murderer, or fake her death, or just live. The premise sounds dumb to me, but apparently there was “an aggressive bidding war for the highly coveted property” back in 2017.
For the record, I have no doubt that Winstead can do a fine job in the film. Kate will begin production sometime this year and probably premiere on the streaming giant sometime next year.
