Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan Set to Star in Romance-Drama AMMONITE

Kate Winslet (Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird, Mary Queen of Scots) have signed on to star in the romance-drama Ammonite, from writer-director Francis Lee, who is currently receiving much praise for his critically acclaimed 2017 movie, God’s Own Country.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Set in a UK coastal town in the 1820s, the drama will follow the unlikely romance between palaeontologist Mary Anning and a London woman of means to whom she must unexpectedly play nursemaid. Production is due to start in March 2019.

With the combination of these two incredibly talented, award-winning actresses and this highly esteemed and very relevant writer and director, it looks like this movie will turn out to be great. We don’t have specifics yet on release date and supporting cast, but we will keep you posted as usual.
