I don't think anyone ever saw this coming. Caltech's Institute for Quantum Information and Matter partnered up with Trouper Productions to bring us a video that features a chess match unlike any chess match you've ever seen before. Paul Rudd vs. Stephen Hawking in a game of Quantum Chess, and the cherry on top is the fact that it's narrated by Keanu Reeves! It's hilariously entertaining.

The game is real and the stakes are high as the future of humanity hangs in the balance. Can Paul Rudd, an actor, beat Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest minds of our generation, in a game of chess that will determine the future of humanity? Most likely not. Unless...

The short film was directed by Alex Winter (Bill & Ted), which explains how Reeves got involved. This video is completely awesome in every way, and it's sure to bring heavy amounts of geek happiness into your life today.
