Keanu Reeves Reveals His Most Difficult Action Scenes in the JOHN WICK Franchise
While fans wait to enjoy the epic fourth chapter of John Wick, Keanu Reeves recently shared the most difficult action sequences that he had to shoot for the franchise. As you know, there are a ton of great action scenes that we’ve seen, and it’s been awesome to see Reeves and the rest of the team pull off these insanely thrilling sequences. But, when talking with Collider, Reeves talked about the hardest:
"The first one that comes to mind was the horse sequence in Chapter 3. I would say, just as the first time, the assault sequence in Chapter 1. I would say the dance party fight in Chapter 2. And I would say probably it's a tie between the Arc de Triomphe car sequence and the stair sequence in Sacré-Cœur."
The Arc de Triomphe car sequence and the stair sequence in Sacré-Cœur take place in John Wick: Chapter 4, and having seen the movie, I can see why he chose those two. They are both incredible, and I have no doubt that fans are going to be blown away by those scenes!
When previously talking about the action in the upcoming movie, Reeves said: “John Wick: Chapter 4 has the most action of any of the [‘John Wick’] films, which is saying a lot. And it’s more by a good margin. It’s a big show… ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox.”
When talking about the car sequence that takes place in Paris's Arc de Triomphe Reeves also said: "We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy. There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse into-forward 270s, drifting… So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play."
In John Wick: Chapter 4, Wick faces off with new enemies and reunites with old friends on his mission to destroy the villainous High Table once and for all.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is being helmed by Chad Stahelski, and the cast also includes Donnie Freakin’ Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Clancy Brown, Ian McShane, and Bill Skarsgard as the sinister main villain.
The movie will hit theaters on March 24th, 2023.
