Keanu Reeves Says He Loves Reprising His Favorite Roles and Would Like to Return to the SPEED Franchise
Right on the heels of Keanu Reeves’ most recent sequel, John Wick: Chapter 4, the actor has expressed a desire to return to another role that fans remember fondly. Reeves starred in the action thriller Speed in 1994, and though there was one sequel in 1997, it was not nearly as good, and Reeves was not a part of it. Since then, sequels have generally gotten better in Hollywood, and the actor would like to return to the role of Jack Traven one more time.
In a recent interview with Looper, Reeves revealed that he would be open to reprising his Speed role, and he views having the opportunity to reprise beloved roles as “a special thing.”
“It’s cool … I never expected that starting out, so to have the opportunity to reprise roles, especially roles that you love, is a special thing. I acknowledge that. To be in John Wick: Chapter 4 is like, ‘What?’ In terms of reprising a role, I don’t know — let’s throw Jack Traven from Speed in the Wayback Machine.”
Reeves can hardly do any wrong by his fans these days. He’s a kind guy who makes good movies, and when he is the star, people show up to watch! I think it would be fun to see Reeves return to the Speed franchise, especially if Sandra Bullock returns as well. They have great chemistry, and I would love to see them reunite. How about you? Would you watch another Speed movie?
