Keanu Reeves Teams Up with Eli Roth for KNOCK KNOCK Thriller
Keanu Reeves is set to star in a new psychological thriller from director Eli Roth called Knock Knock. Roth also wrote the film, which tells the story of a happily married family man, played by Reeves, who is left alone for the weekend. Things take a turn for the worse when two beautiful girls show up at his house and turn his life upside down.
Apparently Reeves loved the script and jumped on board not only as the film's star, but as the executive producer as well. Production on the film starts April 14th in Santiago, Chile. Here's what Roth had to say in a statement:
“I had a window before I promote Green Inferno, and I wanted to make a movie like Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven made when they were young, a classic psychosexual thriller that’s not a horror movie, but would have everyone on the edge of their seats. Getting Keanu is amazing, he’s a fine actor who is perfect for this. I feel I can have this movie ready for Toronto if I need to, and he’s catching a plane tomorrow and we’ll be fitting him for wardrobe right away.”
I enjoy watching Reeves in the movies he makes. I know a lot of people don't really care for Reeves, but I think he's a fun actor. This could turn out to be a solid role for him. It will be interesting to see what Roth has planned. I am fan of the older films directed by Roman Polanski and Paul Verhoeven, but lets face it… Roth is nowhere near as talented a director.
