Keanu Reeves Would Love to Have the Chance to Play John Constantine Again

Keanu ReevesConstantine was a really cool movie, and I’m surprised a sequel was never produced. I thought for sure we would get a sequel or two, but it never happened.

John Constantine is a cynical exorcist with the ability to perceive and communicate with half-angels and half-demons in their true form, and Reeves would love to play this character again! During a recently interview with  Esquire, the actor said:

"I love playing Constantine. John Constantine. I've played a lot of Johns. How many Johns have I played? I don't even know. I think it's over ten. But anyway, I'd love to have the chance to play Constantine again."

Constantine was released back in 2005, and is also starred Rachel Weisz as LAPD Detective Angela Dodson, Tilda Swinton as Archangel Gabriel, and Shia LaBeouf as Chas Kramer, Constantine's driver. The story follows Angela and Constantine unravelling a hellish plot that would wreak havoc on Earth and humanity.

J.J. Abrams is producing a John Constantine series for HBO Max, but there are no details on the project other than it’s been reported that the character will be played by "a diverse lead." Which means it’s safe to say that we probably won’t see Reeves back in the role.

But, hey! At least Reeves is open to returning if the opportunity ever presents itself.
