Keegan-Michael Key Confirms HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 5 Is in the Works and Will Start Production Soon

It looks like another chapter has been written in the Hotel Transylvania film series. While on the red carpet for the Emmy Awards this past Sunday, one of the franchise’s voice actors, Keegan-Michael Key, who plays Murray the Mummy, confirmed to Variety that he's about to head back into the recording booth for Hotel Transylvania 5.

Key took on the role in Hotel Transylvania 2 and has been in each sequel since. The first three films collectively grossed $1.3 billion at the global box office.

The fourth film, which came out in 2022, was released straight to Amazon Prime Video, and was thought by many to be the final film, but now we know there’s at least one more coming.

There’s also a another series based on the franchise titled, Motel Transylvania, which is currently in production for Netflix. Genndy Tartakovsky is involved in its development.

The spin-off will follow Mavis and Dracula, who move to California and set up a new resort for both humans and monsters. It’s reportedly going to premiere in 2027.

Stay tuned for updates.
