Keira Knightley to Star in Dystopian Sci-Fi Thriller CONCEPTION in Which the Government Has Taken Control of Parenting
Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Atonement, Boston Strangler) has signed on to star in the dystopian sci-fi thriller film Conception, in which the British government has taken control over parenting. The film is written and directed by Camille Griffin, who is reteaming with Knightley after having directed her in the film Silent Night (2021).
The official synopsis for the film reads:
“Conception is a sci-fi thriller set in the not-too-distant future of Britain, where the government has taken authoritarian rule over parenting. The film follows Rita (Knightley), a loyal civil servant and believer in the unforgiving system she upholds, until unexpected events endanger her own parental status, rendering her victim to the same laws she so readily inflicted on others.”
This sounds like a pretty crazy story, but one that totally intrigues me. Knightley is the only cast member who has joined the project so far, but we will keep you posted as it evolves.
