Kelsey Grammer Says the FRASIER Revival Series Is "Ready To Go"

Kelsey Grammer has offered an update on the revival of Frasier that he’s been working on and says that it’s “ready to go”! As of right now, they are looking to secure a network deal with a hope for it to air in mid-2020.

Grammer recently spoke about it on In Depth with Graham Bensinger saying, "We’ve hatched the plan, what we think is the right way to go. [We’re] working on a couple of possible network deals that we’re sorting."

The actor explained that any new episodes would focus on Frasier's relationship with his son Frederick and his continued hunt for love. He then added, "We just have to staff it and find somebody who wants to give us money for it. You never know."

This is pretty exciting news for fans of Frasier. Grammer has been working on developing this revival since 2018 and it’s pretty cool that it actually looks like there’s a good chance that it’s going to happen! While recently talking about it on Today, Grammer also said:

"We're talking to some writers about it. The odds right now are probably about, um, 40/60. We'll see. We've listened to a couple of takes. We have a couple of ideas that might work out. I don't want to go back to the apartment and pretend I never left Seattle."

He added, "Hats off to Will & Grace, but I don't want to do that. So, we'll see." Grammer also explained that he wants the whole cast to come back, saying:

"I’d want everybody back. We would need to deal with that within the storytelling, but I’d want everybody back, if they want to come back. Which they seem to, thankfully."

Obviously, one major character will be missing from the series as John Mahoney, who played Frasier's dad in the show, passed away last year. Kelsey explained that this is something they would need to address. When previously talking about that, he said:

“Of course, John Mahoney died so you’d need to replace that energy, perhaps like they did on Cheers with Coach, they found Woody, who had the same kind of sensibility.”

Are you happy to hear that the Frasier revival is getting closer to becoming a reality?
