Kenan Thompson & Kel Mitchell Reunite for Horror Comedy KENAN & KEL MEET FRANKENSTEIN

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are teaming up again, and this time they’re bringing a monster along for the ride. The longtime collaborators are set to star in and produce a new horror comedy titled Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, marking another reunion for one of the most beloved duos to come out of 1990s Nickelodeon.

The project is inspired by the classic Abbott and Costello monster movies and puts a spooky spin on the kind of chaos fans expect from Thompson and Mitchell.

The story centers on two delivery drivers whose night goes completely off the rails after a routine drop-off leads them to a creepy, wildly out-of-place castle. Things get worse fast when they accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster, turning an ordinary shift into a full-blown fight for survival.

The film is being written by Jonah Feingold, whose past credits include At Midnight and 31 Candles. Production is slated to kick off this summer.

Thompson revealed the project during an appearance on Prime Video’s Good Sports, where he shared why the idea clicked so quickly for him and his longtime friend.

“Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected. We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”

Mitchell echoed that energy, pointing to the chemistry that’s kept their partnership going for decades.

“Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”

Thompson and Mitchell’s history goes back to their time on Nickelodeon’s All That, which led directly to their breakout sitcom Kenan & Kel, which ran from 1996 to 2000. They followed that with the fan-favorite film Good Burger in 1997 and reunited again for Good Burger 2 in 2023.

Over the years, their comedic rhythm has stayed intact, even as their careers have taken different paths, with Thompson becoming a mainstay on Saturday Night Live.

With Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, the duo is leaning into that legacy while giving it a horror-comedy twist that feels tailor-made for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Nostalgia is clearly part of the appeal, but the setup leaves plenty of room for scares, laughs, and the kind of off-the-wall situations that made their earlier work so memorable.

For a generation that grew up watching these two get into trouble on TV, seeing them face off with Frankenstein’s monster feels like a weirdly perfect next step.
