Kenneth Branagh Will Be Working on Another Agatha Christie Murder Mystery For 20th Century Studios
After successful film adaptations of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, Kenneth Branagh will return for a third film in the franchise, where he will once again reprise his role as detective Hercule Poirot and most likely direct.
I enjoyed both of the films that have been made so far, and Kenneth Branagh is so great in the role of the brilliant mustachioed detective. So, I’m totally up for a third film! As for what that third film will be, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell offered a little tease. He told THR:
"We have the Poirot franchise, we have other Christie stories. I love these films, I love Ken [Branagh]. We have a third script written, by Michael Green, that is a pretty daring shift in genre and in tone. It's post-war Venice and an adaptation of one of the lesser-known novels. So I think you'll see the mustache again."
Michael Green is a talented screenwriter who not only worked on the two previously films, he’s worked on both Logan, Blade Runner: 2049, Call of the Wild, American Gods, and more.
We don’t know much else about the third film in the franchise, but we know Hercule Poirot will be back to solve another murder mystery.
