Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson Join Elizabeth Banks' COCAINE BEAR
Elizabeth Banks is prepping her next film project as a director with Cocaine Bear, and she’s managed to put together a great cast for the movie. Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have all signed up for it!
Jimmy Warden wrote the script, and the story is a character-driven thriller inspired by true events that took place in Kentucky in 1985. It should make for an interesting movie.
The story was discussed on the podcast My Favorite Murder, and it follows Andrew Thornton II, a Kentucky native, who became a major player in drug trafficking from Columbia. After making a drop in Georgia, he tried to jump from his plane, and his parachute didn’t deploy. He fell to his death, and lost a package of $15 million worth of cocaine. Three months later, a black bear was found in Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest, dead from a cocaine overdose, after having found and consumed much of the package.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood are producing the film, and production is set to begin August 23 in Ireland.
