Keri Russell (The Americans, Felicity) is set to take on the lead role of Netflix’s new political thriller drama series, The Diplomat. The series was created by Debora Cahn and Netflix has ordered eight 50-minute episodes.

The plot summary for the series reads, “In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler (Russell) lands in a high-profile job she’s unsuited for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and her political future.”

I like Russell and many of the projects that she’s been a part of. There aren’t any more details to share on this latest one, but I know enough to know that I’ll be tuning in to watch.
