Kerry Washington Stars in the Agonizing Role of a Mother Whose Son Is Missing in This Teaser for AMERICAN SON
Kerry Washington is starring in the heart-wrenching Netflix film, American Son, an adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway play of the same name. The story follows an estranged couple that reunite in a Florida police station after their teenage son goes missing.
Washington starred in the role on Broadway and was also joined in the cast by her fellow Broadway cast members Jeremy Jordan (The Flash, Disney’s Newsies the Broadway Musical), Steven Pasquale (American Crime Story, Bloodline), and Eugene Lee (The Crumbles).

Based on the acclaimed Broadway play, AMERICAN SON tells the story of Kendra Ellis-Connor (Kerry Washington), the mother of a missing teenage boy, as she struggles to put the pieces together in a South Florida police station. Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan and Eugene Lee also reprise their roles in the adaptation which presents four distinct viewpoints, while also navigating the unique dynamic of an interracial couple trying to raise a mixed-race son.
