Kevin Bacon and Farrah Mackenzie Join the Cast of Sam Esmail's Film LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND at Netflix
Emmy nominated actor Kevin Bacon (Footloose, Mystic River) and actress Farrah Mackenzie (Logan Lucky, Utopia) are the most recent actors to have joined the cast of the Netflix movie Leave the World Behind. The film is being directed by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), who is writing the script, which is based on the novel by Rumaan Alam.
The story is about a family vacation on Long Island that is interrupted by two strangers bearing news of a mysterious blackout. As the threat grows more imminent, both families must decide how best to survive the potential crisis, all while grappling with their own place in this collapsing world.
Bacon and Mackenzie join previously cast actors that include Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Charlie Evans, and Myha’la Herrold.
Along with writing and directing, Esmail is producing with Chad Hamilton through Esmail Corp, alongside Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill for Red Om Films. Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis is exec producing alongside Alam, Danny Stillman and Esmail Corp’s Nick Krishnamurthy.
This sounds like an intriguing story, and the cast is great, so I am looking forward to checking it out.
