Kevin Bacon is "Just Waiting For the Call" For a TREMORS Sequel
There are seven films total in the Tremors film franchise and a mini-series, but the only one that Kevin Bacon ever appeared in was the original 1990 movie, which is the best one in the franchise. Yeah, the sequels are silly fun, but none of them have been able to capture the magic of that first movie.
Over the years Bacon has shared his interest in returning for a Tremors sequel to reprise his role as Valentine McKee. Fans have been wanting to see him back in that role for years, and in a recent Twitter post, he shared with his fans that he’s “Just waiting for the call.”
Bacon previously said in an interview: "It was one film of mine that I wanted to revisit that character. I don't look back at all. In fact, Tremors is the only movie of mine that I have rewatched since it's come out."
Bacon did return for a Tremors TV series pilot for SyFy, but that didn’t end up getting picked up, which is a shame. I think it would’ve been a big hit. So now Bacon is back to waiting to see if anyone will ever call him up to make a sequel. When talking about the pilot episode he shot, Bacon said:
"We made an excellent pilot outside of Albuquerque, recreated the town, had a really great cast, director, and writer and to this day I still don't understand why they didn't want to move forward with it. It's a real head-scratcher for me. If I honestly thought the pilot was sh-t then I'd say we just didn't crack it but it was cool, and that's a really hard balance to get, between funny and scary, as you know, that's the sweet spot. Tremors was good at that, as were Shaun of the Dead and Get Out. But yeah, it was for a series, not a TV movie."
I don’t know about you, but I’d love to catch up with Valentine and see what he’s up to after all these years!
